The music room is designed to provide a variety of musical styles and tempos. The children are engaged in songs, nursery rhymes, poetry, finger plays, etc. Also, children are introduced individually and as a group to musical instruments.

Movement is also an important element in this room. We promote the use of fine and gross motor skills with activities such as:

• Ribbon dancing
• Dancing with scarves
• Parachute play
• Individual introduction to musical instruments by "groups"
• Marching to music
• Stomping
• Running, skipping, hopping
• Clapping
• Learning rhythms
• Beanbags
• Directional games
